ModernGigabyte Sold; Introducing Louisville Venture Partners

by Michelle on April 8, 2008

When I met with the DNZoom team a couple weeks I did not get the financial details on the sale of the company as I’d hoped. However, I was not a complete failure in the information gathering department as I did find out two very interesting pieces of information.

First, two-thirds of the DNZoom team recently sold another business called ModernGigabyte. ModernGigabyte’s most well known product is ModernBill, a billing software package for the website hosting industry. ModernGigabyte was sold to Parallels. Yes, that Parallels.

The second important piece of information I got from the DNZoom team was that I could stop calling them the DNZoom team and start calling them the Louisville Venture Partners team.

When I sat down with Michael Fountain, Jeremy Christ and Dan Kimball Louisville Venture Partners was still semi under wraps. The website had yet to be launched and details on the company’s plans for the immediate future were hinted at but not completely clear to me. Since then Louisville Venture Partners website has been launched. From the company’s about page:

Louisville Venture Partners offers a reliable, high-quality alternative to in-house resources for business development, market development, and channel development on an international scale. Working with LVP is a professional way to develop new Internet technical businesses and can prove to be more effective than working completely in-house with a partner’s own human resources.

The company already has unveiled two projects, both web properties, band.org and hookupsandbreakups.com.

Michelle, thanks for taking the time to meet with us and for the write up! It was a pleasure discussing some of our ideas with you and we hope to provide Louisville with more great start-up opportunities through our LVP projects. Thanks again! ~ MF

Michael & Jeremy were one of the finalist in Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year program for emerging growth companies. As you can see this was a honor well deserved and I can’t wait to see where these guys go next!!

Is any one else in Louisville having T1 (Speakeasy) problems? Mine has been down since around midnight last night and I’m still waiting on Bell South to pay me a visit. Hmmm…I’m thinking that last nights storm had something to do with it. But why only my DS1? Grrr….
