Louisville Startup Profilactic Getting Buzz
Last week I posted my conversation with Shawn Morton of Profilcatic. Shawn’s a great guy and Profilactic is a great service. Coincidentally after our conversation I started seeing the name Profilactic spring up across the web in some interesting ways.
First I saw that SXSW Midlands (SXSWm) plans to put Profilactic to good use during the SXSW Interactive Festival that begins on Friday March 7. SXSWm is a group of “digital media types” from the UK and while at SXSWi they’re going to be documenting their experiences through their various blogs and social media accounts. The interesting part is that the group’s data is going to be aggregated and shared in one central location by Profilactic
each of us has a Life Stream, provided by Profilactic, that feeds into the site, so that if we post a photo, a video, some audio, or put a post on our own blogs, then they will all be pulled through into one big ’splurge’ of info with individual RSS feeds for each author.
Then yesterday the very popular site Download Squad posted an enthusiastic recommendation of Profilcatic.
Tired of visiting tons of sites to keep tabs on your friends (or vice versa)? Sign up for a Profilactic profile and link over 140 social sites (like Facebook, Flickr, Digg, etc.) and let your friends view the Profilactic mashup of your web activity.
Well done Profilactic. It’s very nice to see a local web startup building buzz and excitement.

Hey - thanks for the mention. Profilactic is one of those ’surely that already exists’ ideas - it was really easy to set up and we’re all excited about giving it a run for its money during SXSW. Should be fun!
